have to make a choice between violating their religious beliefs or quitting their jobs. Below is more info from The Point:
The right to a conscience
by Gina DalfonzoAs you may have heard, President Obama is planning to get rid of the Bush administration's regulations protecting the conscience rights of health care workers. HHS (Health & Human Services) is accepting comments from the public about this proposal. The deadline is April 9, so if you want to make your opinion heard, make sure you do it as soon as possible. You can go directly here, or send your comments through Family Research Council using some or all of their suggested language.
According to the Family Research Council “The(se) regulations (set up under Pres. Bush), which President Obama is planning to rescind, would ensure that programs that receive federal funds, including federal, state and local government programs, do not discriminate against health care workers who object to participating in such practices as abortion and sterilization.”
In other words, programs that receive federal funds can discriminate, not hire, fire, etc. those who oppose abortion & sterilization. The affects not just Christians, but Muslims, Jews, and people who may have no religious preference but disagree with those procedures.
Please take a few moments and make your voice heard. Thanks!
Ooo, thanks!
