My parents live in the San Diego area. My mom called this morning and asked that everyone would remember to pray for Southern California. While my parents town is safe at the moment (they have fires on 3 sides of it. 2 of which are contained), my mom said the devastation & loss of property is worse than what even the news is showing. Some members of my extended family have had to evacuate, but none have lost their homes so far.
If you haven't seen the news, over 1 million people have been evacuated. MSNBC has great coverage here. People have been sending in pictures of the fires which you can see here. This is the worst fire in California history, which is saying a lot, believe me! I lived there for 31 years, my mom has lived there for over 60 years & my dad is a native. None of us has seen fires like this before.
Prayer really does make a difference. Thanks.
Still praying! Any updates?

The fire closest to them is still not controlled & the Santa Ana winds are supposed to start up again Sunday. They aren't out of danger yet...

My brother lives in Yorba Linda and their patio is covered in soot. I'm glad your parents are OK and that the fires now appear to be mostly contained...
