Well, at long last, Evan is scheduled for his second hip surgery. So next week (yes, right before Thanksgiving!) we will make the trip one more time. He actually seems more mentally prepared this time. His last 3 blood draws have gone smoothly thanks to his "I'm putting on my headphones, crankin' up the tunes & ignoring the pain" method. He seems much less fearful about the whole procedure.
In preparation for the next crazy week, I have already done my grocery shopping for Turkey Day. As we won't be around to get the turkey thawed in time, I have taken the radical step of (gasp!) ordering a cooked turkey from our local grocery store that is conveniently open that day. I figure I can do the pies & potatoes easily and our friend, Kristen, is coming over to assemble the whole shebang and bringing candied yams (yum) and a couple other goodies. Evan may not feel like eating by then, but Harold & I sure will!
So I won't be posting until after Thanksgiving. I think. Maybe.
We'll be praying for Evan. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Love you guys.
